Discover the UAE: Liwa desert

Let me start this post by wishing you a belated happy New Year! Ours started in the peaceful and quiet desert of Liwa in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It was the perfect way to end a year and the best way to kick off the new one!

It is funny how people tend to only think of Dubai when one talks about the UAE. It is a shame because there is so much more to see in the country than tall buildings. Each emirate is worth the trip as they all have their landscapes and activities to do. To be fair, we never heard of Liwa until we bought the UAE Off-Road book which lists several places to visit for anyone who feels a little bit adventurous. It is definitely the best purchase we made this season - along with camping equipment.

Hydrate your hair with what you've got in your kitchen

Hi pals, long time no see around here. Work is keeping me away from blogging but you know what: I am on holidays which means I can finally spare myself some time to write this post and actually enjoy it.

I frequently receive questions about how I maintain my hair and although I do admit it is a day-to-day work by itself, it is actually very easy to find the right products. Since curly hair naturally tends to be dehydrated due to the shape of the curls that doesn't allow sebum to reach the tip, I thought it would be interesting to start off that topic. Good news is you don't have to be curly to follow my tips. ;-)

Review | Huda Beauty Liquid Matte

Hello, how are you? I have been away from the blog for a while but it didn't stop me from buying beauty stuff so let's get to the point... I tend to be sceptical when a blogger/Youtuber/influencer launches a makeup line because the collaborations often end up being of cheap quality yet for a high price (can we talk about the Too Faced/Nikkie Tutorial's palette drama?).

This is how I felt for Huda Beauty liquid matte lipsticks. I even got more sceptical when I saw all the hype around the launch. Everything was said to be sold out so when I went to Sephora the day after, I was surprised there were still many in stock - except for Bombshell which is the most popular shade of the brand. Anyhow, as soon as I swatched one I knew it would worth the purchase.

Lush Fresh Face Masks

I haven't bought anything from Lush for a very long time. To be honest, I just feel a bit lost amidst all the products with the same packaging and funny names that are not always clear as for their purpose. However, I recently thought I should give Lush a (new) try with their Fresh Face Masks.

A day at Le Meridien, Fujairah

Here is an idea of what you can do in the UAE once summer is over. Summer here doesn't allow us to enjoy outdoor activities because it is way too hot during this time. Right before we got stuck at home with the unbearable weather, we went to Fujairah for the first time. It was on weekend, we wanted to enjoy the beach in a nice location and after a research online, we decided to go to Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

April - May favorites, flops & beauty discoveries

Hi there, it's been a while! I am happy to be back now things are slowing down a bit during Ramadan. Enough at least to sit down and talk about makeup I liked, disliked and discovered these past two months.

Thickening / hydrating hair mask with kapoor kachli & coconut milk

Let's talk about hair again because if yours is similar, you know that curls require a high maintenance. I plead guilty of not being constant in doing hair masks because it takes time, especially since my hair is getting very long, and it is not socially acceptable to go out with yogourt on your hair, isn't it?

But hair masks on a weekly basis are really important to maintain your mane healthy and today I want to share a simple recipe that will thicken and hydrate - among other few benefits.
